On August 6, my Dad and I are heading to Bolivia to complete our last step of training before we begin our journey for the seven summits (climbing the tallest mountains on each continent). In Bolivia, we will be doing a mountaineering school where we will learn to use ice axes, crampons, and other climbing equipment. We will also be attempting to summit three peaks in the process of getting this training, Tanja or Pequeno Alpamayo (elev 17,643 ft), Huayna Potosi (elev 19,974 ft), and Illimani (elev 21,125 ft). We have been training for seven months for this and then we will train for four more until we attempt my first of the seven summits, Aconcagua, in Argentina in December. Aconcagua is the tallest mountain outside of the Himalayas at 22,838 ft. My hometown of Bozeman, Montana has been a great place to get some epic hikes in - this is me on Mt Baldy summit in June. I will update the blog every few days, whenever I go back to La Paz or get internet. Wish me luck!
